MONTBRETIA CROCOSMIA (crocosmiiflora)

Montbretia Crocosmia (crocosmiiflora) - Botanical Illustration Print

Long, arching stems of fiery orange, star-shaped flowers blooming in late summer, set against sharp, sword-like green foliage.

To hurry past a patch of Montbretia is to see only a flash of sudden colour against the hedgerow. Stop and look closely, and a striking architectural rhythm reveals itself. Each flower opens in an alternating sequence along a slender, wiry stem—a living gradient of deep red buds, glowing saffron trumpets, and delicate stamens built to catch the late-season sun.

Hanging this illustration in your space creates a quiet pause button—a daily invitation to slow down, feel the vibrant kinetic energy of the natural world, and welcome a burst of warmth into your everyday environment.

Part of an ongoing botanical illustration series celebrating the detail, resilience, and overlooked drama of native plant life.

The Artistic Process & Technique

100% Hand-Drawn (Zero AI): Every line and detail is drawn by hand by the artist. The artist never uses artificial intelligence, automated generation, or algorithmic filters at any stage of the process.
